In Virginia it was called Kung Fu Action Theater on the USA network. Us kids shut everything down when it came on. I mean football, basketball, cops and robbers, bike races and everything!
That finishing move had me dying!😂 Great classic though. Jack Long is too underrated! His name should be as common as Gordon Liu, Jackie Chan, and Jet Li.
SIP to the great Alan Chui Chung San, one of the great choreographers in that era, and the villain of this movie. It has been said that he would only perform fight scenes on the condition that he himself would choreograph it. When looking at the brilliance in his fight scenes in movies such as “The Rebellious Reign” and “Two Fists Against the Law”, I’m not at all mad at his stipulation!!
Wow I’ve seen this movie years ago and I never realized where were the daughter and the 7 other people while the fight was going on lol 😂 who miraculously appeared when the fight was over !!
They are trained acrobats. Most of them are not martial artists, but it does take MANY years of discipline to perfect. The moves in this movie are not real or not practical in a fight.
@@SuperN1ntendoChalmers Some of the blocks and kicks could be useful in a fight though. I know the younger dude, lee yi min was definitely legit. He was a martial artist but he only did the old fashioned, traditional martial arts and was superb. I personally find it more impressive when someone can do all that over the top moves perfectly than more practical move-sets because you really gotta love martial arts to learn it all.
They are trained in traditional Chinese Opera where they do loadsa acrobatics as well as learn the Northern Chinese martial art called Chang Chuan (Long Fist). Many of these actors trained with the likes of Jackie Chan, Yuen Biao, and Samo Hung.
@@dylanplumley280 I remember being attacked once by a thai boxer in a premeditated attack. The guy used gloves. The guy phenomenal punch speed and I was untrained, however I can say that I managed to block approximately 99.5% of his punches and 100% of his kicks. While I have to acknowledge Jesus as the seemingly supernatural influence that came over me at the time It would seem that movies can help you realise that such attacks can be blocked and give you a little confidence as to the methodology to use. I wasn't able to touch the other guy though but at least I came through it unscathed until a passing patrol car caused them to scatter.
These guys were already skillful and expert in their different areas of specialization ( martial art techniques ). So, the choreographic parts of the movie wasn't difficult to demonstrate when it came to dramatizing the fight.
So the crazy thing is i am from the Caribbean and we watched these movies when I was a child Kung fu movies. We are a fan of the culture and have our own Chinese population so much so that I can cook Chinese and Asian food better than my native country of Trinidad.
Interesting how in Star Wars The Phantom Menace when the Jedi Khights became really good, it's obvious they were influenced by the 70's and 80's martial arts movies. As good as those fight scenes were, they are no were near as good as this kind of art. Not even close!
Dubbing movies into English from another country turns any genre into a comedy full of seemingly bad actors performing a very bad script (usually the original script is changed by the dubbers to accommodate the moving lips, amongst a lot of other reasons). If only the film was left alone in its original language except just to add subtitles. The films are so much more different in the original language and way better.
Ah this brings me back to my childhood growing up in Chicago. Used to watch these movies on channel 50 every Sunday afternoon. Great times!
Me too.

Exactly the same in OKC

From a time when Kung Fu movies used to be awesome. No camera tricks, no cgi, just a regular ass camera and a ton of talent.

Très bon film de kung fu a l'ancienne avec une bonne histoire à regarder si vous adorez ce genre de film.
I Like to think that long pause @7:02 in is him taking a really long time to realize whats going on lol.
WoW I remember copying the moves of these blokes way back then, when I was alone..
Gotta love the battle damage over time with these joints. Such an underappreciated feature in action movies.
Awesome defense moves
I like this film

How many years or practice does it take to have this level of skill and athleticism? Wow!

All this senseless violence over a misunderstanding....cant we just all get along and fight the real bad guy!!!
6:31 that was cool
People may plot revenge for years.
True bro
At 6:52 was too funny when he kicked his ass right back where he came from.
The main learning in this movie....kick the balls and you will defeat anybody.
Anyone else lit a Doobie while watching old kung fu movies
I don't see the point of living thought that final blow either, MUCH prefer to die too 😁

He clearly was not a master of the Pai Mei style. The "walking on air" technique wouldn't have worked on Pai Mei.
